ACRE is a non-profit initiative and residency program for artistic research and rural practice in Berlin [DE] and La Brigue [FR]. Each year, ACRE hosts international artists to carry out their projects in an inclusive and experimental environment as part of a research residency. On our small organic farm located in the Alpes-Maritimes, we aim to cultivate environments of critical inquiry, site-specific engagement, and spatial experimentation.
Interested in research-based practices and rural commoning, ACRE strives for collaborative forms of artistic knowledge production and dissemination. La Ferme hosts individuals and groups for residencies, workshops, summer schools, concerts, and communal dinners.
Together with guest curators and artists, we organise exhibitions, book launches, screenings, and talks in Berlin. The ACRE Library is an integral part of the project space. It comprises an artist’s book archive that reflects the practice and research of our guest artists and project partners—a discursive space for the book as an independent art form. Feel free to browse the online catalogue or contact info@acrestudios.cc to make an appointment.
